A message from our Executive Director
We’re restructuring to achieve deeper impact
Remember back in September, we announced that PLAN would enter Strategic Planning to assess our organization’s health and long-term impact? In other words, for several months, PLAN looked deeply at our infrastructure, staffing, and program accomplishments by gathering feedback. Consequently, we learned some hard truths about our program gaps and leadership blind spots. After that, we assessed our long term goals and the sustainability of our finances. In short, our Board decided to kick off 2019 with the restructure of our organization.
To clarify, PLAN’s board adopted a new structure for our organization by recognizing we needed to provide our program staff with the maximum support possible to serve as many parents, communities, schools, and organizations we can. Most importantly, we are deeply committed to be effective in organizing parents and implementing the leadership development programs that support long-term systemic change and advance transformative family engagement. Therefore, we highlighted three areas that need immediate improvement: stronger operations, increased fundraising capacity and expanding workshops and training throughout the Bay Area.
Thus, our 2019 new structure creates three new positions to help us achieve our success: an Operations Manager, Development Director and a Capacity Building Lead. Over the next month, we will begin our hiring process for these positions. Most importantly, we are encouraged that our supporters will help us find the right candidates to join our staff team.
