Parent Action

Organize!

That’s why we develop the leadership and build the power of parents to transform schools.

  • We are organizing for a school system where the needs, voices, and concerns of students of color, their parents and families are heard, respected and welcomed.
  • We are organizing to ensure that every student graduates feeling physically, socially and emotionally prepared to flourish in and outside of school.

We’re reclaiming our strength. We’re reclaiming our public schools.

We will amplify the power of parent leadership in public schools!

Everyday, parents are continuing to lead organizing efforts to create real change for Black, immigrant and undocumented children across the Bay Area.

Parents are advocating and testifying about the inequities that significantly impact public schools serving Black, immigrant and undocumented students and their families. However, their efforts often go unheard by decision makers. Through the Strong Parents, Strong Public Schools Campaign, parent leaders and allies are going to activate our communities to engage in a dialogue about student success in public schools. Most importantly, we’re going to reclaim the idea that public schools can educate all students. We’re going to reclaim that public schools can be safe spaces where children are loved and feel safe.

Strong Parents, Strong Public Schools will shine more light on the invaluable leadership of parents who believe in the right to education, public schools and student success. Our campaign will engage one million parents in sharing their stories, experiences and advocacy efforts around the Bay Area to advance Transformative Family Engagement Standards and demands to ensure that the resources, structure and practices within public schools are culturally relevant to black, immigrant, and undocumented families districts serve.
